Music
It comes as a shock and
I don't know,
where the hell did my life go?
I planted a tree and look at it now,
it's big and half dead
and I'm thinking wow,
time is slipping away.
Yeah, sometimes I feel half my age
Then I look in the mirror
I'm just like the old codgers that I see
I'm lookin' at them and
they're lookin' at me
And all of a sudden
we're the ol' farts in our town
But I won't complain with all I've done,
it's all I know
Workin' out in the mornin' sun,
havin' a go
I feel like thankin' somethin'
for what I see
So I thank the stars for shinin'
down on me
I can't handle the heat these days
So I find the shade like an old dog
I have a power nap, they say,
but I'm just lazy
I'll get a bit more done in
the evening when it's cool
But I won't complain
with all I've done, it's all I know
Working out in the morning sun,
hav ing a go
I feel like thanking something
for what I see
So I thank the stars for shining down on me
I always see the brighter side of life
There's some time that
drives others mad
I've found good friend
s and lost a love or two
But life is short, it's what you do
And you don't get far being too careful
But I won't complain,
with all I've done, it's all I know
Workin' out in the mornin' sun,
hav in' a go
I feel like thankin' somethin'
for what I see
So I thank the stars for
shinin' down on me
It comes as a shock and I don't know
where the hell did my life go
I planted a tree, look at it now,
it's big and half dead
And I'm thinking, wow,
time is slipping away,
yeah, time is slipping
