My kids
got me worried,
my kids acting strange
He was always cheerful,
now there's been a change
We used to talk for hours,
we ain't talking any more
They sit and tap his fingers,
and he's up and out the door
My kid was a reader,
he always had a book
They gave my kid a book to read,
that was all it took
And I don't read nothing,
he don't even watch TV
He checks his watch time after time
and he hardly looks at me
This aren't going on,
the kids are walking away
If we don't help now,
could be some awful dues to pay
There's something going on,
we might not get them back
The papers say this crowd
is killing a generation
My kid, he was happy,
he toured around the place
You'd always hear him laughing,
with a grin across his face
Now he ain't much for showers,
he forgets to comb his hair
He looks in your direction,
but he doesn't know you're there
There's something going on,
the kids are walking away
We don't help now,
there'll some awful dues to pay
There's something going on,
we might not get them back
The papers say this crack
is killing our generation
My kids got me worried
My kid's acting strange
He was always cheerful
Now there's a lot of change
We used to talk for hours
We ain't talking anymore
He's sitting, tap his fingers
Then he's up and out the door
Now there's some going on
The kids are walking away
If we don't help them now
There'd be some awful
