Alright!
How about that?
Good evening from the
Lone Star Cafe!
Good evening everybody, how you doing?
You having fun so far?
We have a historic night
tonight on W .H .N.
and of course Country Music as well because
one of the great legends
we've been talking about
and respecting and playing
his records year in and year out
and has turned out to be one of the most
popular
of all our recording artists
in the world of country
music.
We're very proud and privileged tonight
to have what we call a historic
night at the Lone Star Cafe
and happy that everybody listening
and here in person
is here to enjoy a great, great
evening.
With further ado,
ladies and gentlemen,
will you meet and greet, perhaps,
some of the finest picture
pickers
this side of Texas,
the Texas Troubadours
and Ronnie Blackwell.
Here they are. Thank you. Thank
Alright, everybody's goin'
out and havin' fun
I'm just a fool for stayin' home
and havin' none
Love's a fool that's just can't see
Oh, love's for me
What a bad mistake
I'm makin' by just hangin' around
I know that I should have some fun
and hangin' down
Love's a foolish plant,
you just can't see
Oh, well to me
Well I bet she's not like me
She's out of fancy free
Offered with them bone -ball her charms
But I still love her so
Oh, but I don't know know
How to welcome her
right back in my arms
Well, there must be some way I can lose
If I don't come loose
Forget about my past
and find somebody new
Thought of everything but medicine
Oh, belongs to me
Yeah!
Well, I bet she's not like me
She's out of France for free
Offered with and for all her charm
But I still love her so
Oh, but don't you know
I'd have welcomed her
right back in my arms
Well, there must be some way
I can lose this lonesome blues
Forget about the past
and find somebody new
Thought of everything from every season
Oh, lonesome me
Oh, lonesome me
Oh, lonesome me
Well, all right!
Rodney Blackwell,
ladies and gentlemen!
How about it?
And the Texas Troubadours!
Aren't there something else?
I mentioned before,
tonight's a very important night
for every country music
fan in New York.
Listening to WHN,
a man whose legacy,
reputation is worldwide,
really inspired by the late Jimmy
Rogers.
He's helped countless
country musicians
discover a talent like Jack Green, Cal Smith,
and many more.
As an artist, also as a composer,
his reputation is incomparable.
The elder statesman,
a legend in his own time,
ladies and gentlemen,
the one and the only,
Let's have a warm,
wonderful New York welcome,
the Texas Troubadour, Ernest Duff!
