A little number entitled,
Daddy's Drinkin' Up Our Christmas.
Here we go.
Daddy's drinkin' up our Christmas
Gonna be some hard times this year
No treat or stockings or presents
Just bottles of Christmas cheer
No new fridge a day for mama,
no toy train for brother
Jim
Daddy's drinkin' up
our Christmas,
don't know what's gonna
become of him
Quit his job last Friday,
cashed his last paycheck,
and Ma ain't seen a cent
The cupboards are empty,
the phones turned off,
where we gonna come up with the rest?
We ain't seen daddy for two
days and nights,
Tommy's pa said he saw
him at the track.
Daddy, lay down that Bible
if you hear my prayer
Your mama and me want
you back
Got a call from the sheriff,
said Dad wrecked the family car
They arrested him
and threw him in the tank
We'll get you out Christmas morning
if we can raise the bill daddy please
don't take another drink
daddy's drinking up our christmas
gonna be no happy new year
no tree or stockings or presents
just bottles of christmas cheer
no new fidget air for mama
Daddy's drinkin' up
our Christmas,
wonder what's gonna be
come of him
I can't stand it it's just too sad
and you got alcoholics
for daddies
you know what I'm talking about
okay now speaking of daddies
the old commander right over there now
there's an old boy who's just dying
to get his stuff together
and do some little boogie -woogie for you
