So when I was growing up in Russia,
things were very, very strict,
as it was still part of the Soviet
Union.
And the government was so ridiculous,
they didn't allow many,
many things in the country,
including music, news,
clothes from outside of the Soviet Union.
But people found ways around it
and some people complied with that
because the government had really
severe repercussions
for, you know, speaking out,
especially against the government.
But even being an individual
and having your own thinking
and, you know, now, thank God,
you know,
in Russia it's much,
much better situation.
People have the freedoms
they didn't have before.
And the song that Nick and I wrote,
we wrote it about that,
about thinking for yourself
no matter where you live,
what your circumstances are,
what you're told to do,
or what you're told to think.
And the song is called Something of My Own.
